How a painting begins
The story of this painting is the deep emotional connection I have to the numerous drives I have taken at night along the Pacific Coast Highway. Ever since the first moment I saw PCH on my honeymoon in 1976 I fell madly in love. My hope was someday I would live there. For 10 years I lived in Palm Springs and when I would drive fro the the coast back home to PS, I would see the moon light hitting those little cottages perched along the cliffs. The moon, the water, and the little houses gave me a sense of comfort and peace and home. All was good and calm and simple with the world. This feeling, this wonderful feeling of love, peace and family is the emotion I was painting……
