I am so very fortunate to be able to paint at my cousins beautiful home on the North Shore of Chicago. Their home sits on the edge of the a ravine overlooking Lake Michigan. When winter comes the lake usually freezes over by the shore as it did in this painting. This is a very large painting so on the computer it is difficult to see all the complexity in this piece on the computer, that being said i believe you could look at it for hours and never see the depth in the woods and the snow.

I lived in Palm Springs California for 10 years, and spring there was absolutely stunning. My home was on the desert floor but the mountain rose up directly behind my yard. I would climb the area behind the Palm Springs Desert Museum with my friends Dennis and Arlene and this is what we would see as the desert started to blum every spring. Modern Impressionist painting of flowers and clouds reflection in the water. I live by Lake Michigan and the Lincoln Park Lagoons in Chicago, both are a constant source of inspiration. When you look into the water from above you see the reflection of the stunning planet we live in. For more info contact Diane@dianebronstein.com
A wonderful artists who is my friend, Pamela Grau, lives in Ojai California. While staying at her lovely I brought out my watercolors and painted this scene of the ranch that was next door. This view was created in the early morning...... than you Pam.
A second little gem ... this is of the same ranch I painted while at my friend, Pam Grau's home in Ojai California. It is of the beautiful ranch and the pasture where the horses roam next door. This painting was done during the mid-day.
Oil painting can be hung vertically or horizontally. It is an abstract nature scene that was created purely from my memories and imagination of the wind swirling around and picking up bits and pieces of branches, leaves, bark, petals and stems.
When you look at a mountain flooded with trees and snow..... this is what I tried to express while painting this heavily layered oil painting. I love its depth and how every time I look at it I see something new....
Oil Painting of water rushing over the submerged giant rock ledges on Lake Michigan along the Chicago Shore Line.
This was created while walking along a country road and lookin at the fields in northern Wisconsin as right before the sun was about to set. It was done from memory because that is when I feel you put the emotion on canvas that you experience and want others to experience. Painting Plein Air is wonderful and you do capture the colors and the feeling but often I get caught in the details and loose the emotion.

Often the leaves, petals and stems are more interesting and beautiful as they swirl thru the garden. This is what I tried to capture on a very windy day in Winnetka, a suburb on the north shore of Chicago.
A painting can take you to a place you have never seen before. Art can bring to you the feeling and spirit ...
